Living Wage Week takes place each year during the first week of November to coincide with the announcement of the new rates for the Living Wage as calculated by the independent Living Wage Foundation. The Living Wage is not connected with the government’s so called national living wage which is the higher rate of the national minimum wage for workers over 25 years old.

To raise awareness of the need for a real Living Wage that meets the cost of living and to celebrate responsible employers that commit to ensuring their staff earn a wage they can live on Norwich City and Norfolk County UNISON branches will be at The Forum this Friday.

The UK and London Living Wage rates are announced every year on the Monday of Living Wage Week. The UK rate is announced simultaneously in cities around the country whilst the London rate is announced by the Mayor of London.
