As part of the UNISON Eastern One Weekend 2025, we offer a selection of courses for newly elected branch officers, helping them get to grips with their new role.

The course runs all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

What will the course help me to do?

This will help you understand

The role and function of a UNISON branch;
The role of the branch secretary in ensuring that the functions of the branch are carried out effectively;
The annual timetable of tasks and deadlines relating to that role;
The relationship of the branch secretary to the branch committee and branch members;
The relationship of the branch secretary to the region and appropriate service group;
Their own development needs with a personal action plan to meet these.
