Tell me more

The workplace can be a key site in breaking the cycle of domestic abuse.

Not only is work affected by domestic abuse — through high absenteeism, lateness, lower productivity and performance — the workplace may often be a safe place for someone experiencing domestic abuse, enabling them to reach out.

Research shows that people often won’t talk about domestic abuse at work because they are ashamed, embarrassed or feel it’s inappropriate. But two in three victims can tell us that, for them, work was the one place where they felt most safe and a place where they could be themselves.

About the trainers

The training is provided by Alpha Vesta, a community interest company dedicated to embedding culture and building understanding around domestic abuse in the workplace.

Alpha Vesta supports employers, businesses and organisations through training, consultancy and policy development in order to support those most affected.
