29 March 2021 2:00pm–3:30pm
These have been are extremely challenging times for our healthcare members working within the NHS. We are now pleased to be able to offer this Wellbeing Support Webinar.
Who is the course for?
The course is for NHS-employed healthcare lay activists within UNISON Eastern region.
What will I do?
- Explore reasons why colleagues and UNISON members may not be seeking support even though they are struggling,
- Receive a presentation from Martha Roberts, NHSE/I East of England head of staff experience and engagement, on what support is already available, plus a chance to ask questions,
- Think about what we are missing. Tell us of any gaps in provision that we should be working with the employers to get them to offer.
When does the session run?
The session will run on 29 March 1pm to 2.30pm.
This will be via an online learning platform and you will be able to interact with others that are on the course to learn and share experiences.
Can I get time off to learn?
Yes, if you are in a recognised workplace the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 and the 1997 Safety Representative and Safety Committee Regulations give you the right to time off with pay to attend trade union courses. You must give your employer reasonable notice.
Guidance can be found in the ACAS Codes of Practice.
Can I get time off for online courses?
Yes. Online learning is not an alternative to paid release from work. The law still applies, whether learning takes place away from work or in work, at a workstation or in a company learning centre.
If you are having difficulty accessing paid time off, please contact your local branch.
How much is the course?
