UNISON Eastern’s annual celebration of learning and activism is back for 2025!
The One Weekend will be back at Wyboston Lakes near Bedford for a host of exciting courses and our gala dinner and awards ceremony.
Nominations are now open for the One Weekend awards, so if you’ve been inspired by any branches or activists in the region over the last year, why not put them forward for a gong? Details are below.
We’re currently drawing up the programme but please save the date now and see you on 17 and 18 May 2025!
Courses and workshops
We’re putting on an amazing blend of courses and workshops this year. There’s all the essential training for new branch officers, courses for more experienced activists and introductions for people newer to UNISON.
The courses run over Saturday and Sunday while the workshops are all day Saturday.

Venue and costs
Situated midway between Cambridge and Milton Keynes, at the edge of the historic market town of St Neots and set in 380 acres of rural countryside is Wyboston Lakes Resort.
Our One Weekend 2025 event will be hosted in the Woodlands Event Centre, clearly signposted near to the entrance of the resort. This self-contained building has all the modern training rooms, refreshments, food and accommodation facilities that are required to ensure the weekend goes smoothly for you.
Wyboston Lakes is a cashless venue so only card payments will be accepted for drinks and incidentals.
There are a range of event packages available but please discuss with your branch in the first instance as your branch will cover the costs of your course.

Awards
The One Weekend plays host to our annual regional awards, where we celebrate the fantastic work done by branches and activists over the last year.
Nominations are now closed, and the finance, development and organisation committee is considering the winners. They’ll be announced at the One Weekend.
