UNISON Hertfordshire is hosting a vital event designed for staff working in social care and healthcare.

Come along to gain insights into the critical factors of culture and religion that could significantly influence safeguarding processes. The event will be most helpful for migrant workers, but all are welcome.

The whole event is free of charge and a lunch of international food will be provided.

What will the seminar cover?

This seminar will focus on:

  • Our responsibilities in the work place – legal and other,
  • How does our culture and religion influence our thinking on safeguarding,
  • Disciplinary action and safeguarding.

You will gain a deeper understanding of how cultural norms and religious beliefs and practices are critical factors that influence situations within safeguarding processes.

Learn how these should be sensitively and appropriately considered to ensure fair and just outcomes, empowering you with a clearer understanding of your rights and obligations.

  • A safeguarding lawyer providing legal perspectives on these complex issues within safeguarding processes.
  • An adult safeguarding manager sharing expertise on critical factors in adult safeguarding processes.
  • A children’s safeguarding manager offering insights into critical factors in children’s safeguarding processes.
  • Individuals with lived experiences sharing their personal journeys and perspectives on how culture, race, religion, and disabilities act as critical factors within safeguarding processes.
