UNISON Eastern is offering a fantastic range of courses just for members in social care.
These courses will help you gain the skills to do your job more effectively.
As well as demential awareness, we have sessions on behaviour that challenges, end of life care and record-keeping.
What will the course cover?
- Discuss the impact of dementia on memory and how to support someone experiencing memory impairment.
- Consider the impact on the individual’s personality and how distressing this can be for family and those supporting them.
- List ways in which we can offer immediate support to those living with dementia when in distress.
About the trainer
Keith Jones will facilitate the session.
Keith has worked as a consultant in health and social care for 22 years. He began his career as a mental health nurse, then moved into adult nursing and continues to work as a ward sister.
