Stewards Re Certification
The course will run on the 10th and 11th May 2017
Who is it for?
For reps and branch officers who did the Organising Stewards course over five years ago OR reps and branch officers who have never done the Organising Stewards but have been carrying out the full role of a steward i.e. representing members at grievances & disciplinary hearings.
Please note this is not a course for new reps – they should do the 5 day Organising Steward course.
What will it be about?
The course is designed to meet the requirements of the Employment Relations Act (ERA) for recertification.
The course aims to:
• Update reps on new legislation which is relevant to their role, particularly the updated Grievance and Disciplinary procedures
• Introduce new developments within UNISON, including Meeting the Organising Challenge
• Develop new skills and ideas including preparing for cases and encouraging and supporting new activists.
