19 July 2019 10:30am–5:30pm
The Bury St Edmunds Sugar Beet Social Club, Hollow Road, Bury Saint Edmunds IP32 7BB
All public-sector trade union activists and full-time officials in Suffolk and north-east Essex are invited to this exciting event on the future integrated care system (ICS) for the area.
Unions in partnership with Suffolk and North East Essex ICS are bringing together ICS leaders to talk at this event.
It will be a fantastic opportunity to:
- ask questions of the ICS leadership,
- gain a greater understanding of the ICS as a whole,
- influence key decision makers,
- participate in activities designed to get people thinking and talking about integrated care and its future,
- network with like-minded trade union activists from across the public sector in Suffolk and North East Essex.
Why is this important?
The ICS will affect the future delivery of health and social care services for around one million people across Suffolk and north-east Essex. This in turn will affect what, when and how many workers – UNISON members – deliver integrated care in the future. It will also inevitably mean changes to services and service provision.
Trade unionists need to be aware of what the plans are to help shape them for the better.
Over the last 18 months, we have built up a good partnership working relationship with the ICS and this event will seek much wider trade union engagement to further strengthen that partnership working for the benefit of our respective union members.
This isn’t only for UNISON members in health – all public service workers will be affected at some level, even if only as a service user now or in the future or in other ways we haven’t considered yet.
