What will it be about?
This workshop will explore the following:
- The benefits of partnership working to UNISON, apprentices, employees and employers
- The Apprenticeship Agreement
- The Apprenticeship Policy
- Exploring issues and how to deal with them
- The future of apprenticeships and the Apprentice Levy
- Engaging with and recruiting apprentices
- Workshops for apprentices
- Funding available to support apprentices
- Action planning
UNISON supports apprentices and apprenticeships, but we need to make sure that employers are providing real learning and development opportunities to build the skills of the workforce, and that decisions made over apprentice posts are clear, practical and transparent. In order to do this we need to work in partnership with our employers, be involved in the planning and development of apprentice provision and ensure that the voices of apprentices are heard.
