This May will see a massive round of local elections across the Eastern region.
People will go to the polls to pick county and district councillors, mayors and police and crime commissioners.
And as public-sector workers face a return to austerity’s pay freezes and job cuts, it’s essential that UNISON members make their voices heard and have their say in who sits in our town halls.
UNISON Eastern’s Labour Link officer Sam Older spoke to some of the candidates vying for your vote on May 6.
Bedfordshire police and crime commissioner
Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
Essex County Council – Harlow
Essex County Council – Colchester
Pauline Bacon and Jocelyn Law
Essex County Council – Chelmsford
UNISON encourages you to have your say in the local elections. Make sure you’re registered to vote to use your voice.
With Covid still in full swing, it may be safer and easier to vote from home. You have until 20 April to apply for a postal vote.
