Regional convenor Darren Barber is set to be honoured at the TUC Congress in Brighton next month (11-14 September) for his organising work.
Darren is branch secretary at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
When he started at the hospital, union membership was at an all-time low.
As branch secretary he has helped membership grow from 365 to 810 this year, and the number of active UNISON stewards increase two to 14.
