As a member of UNISON you can access a range of education and training courses that can help you in your career.

Want to improve something like your computer skills? UNISON can help you.

Learning through UNISON is a good way to build your confidence, skills and knowledge, whether you want to get active in the union, progress your career or just learn for fun, check out what UNISON has to offer.

Our member development programme includes the award winning Return to Learn programme for members interested in getting back into learning.

As an introduction to our extensive learning and training programme, UNISON offers new members a choice of free one-day workshops to help you at work and in everyday life. These cover areas such as computer skills, dealing with change and a welcome to UNISON.

Other courses are designed to help you play an active role in UNISON. We run a comprehensive training programme for workplace representatives and branch officers including health and safety, equalities or learning reps, as well as taster courses on key issues.

Please note: To see the full range of dates & venues available for each course, please open each individual course fully.

Paid time off and a creche to enable training

UNISON branches provide a care allowance for children and dependants if they need to be looked after while you are attending courses if you have incurred an additional cost. Details are available from your branch education co-ordinator or branch secretary.
