Who is it for?
This training weekend is aimed entirely at new activists/fairly new activists/those existing activists who feel that they need a bit of a refresh and updating. If Branches are looking to support lay members into becoming activists then they are welcome too.
What will it be about?
- know more about their role and how they can develop in UNISON,
- deal with member’s issues,
- get members active in workplaces,
- have those all important conversations with members,
- develop ideas around lobbying,
- learn about women’s history
……and a whole lot more! [the above is a guide as to what will be covered and may be subject to change – final details of what will be covered will be circulated to delegates in advance of the weekend]
Delegates will also have free access, when not in session, to some of the leisure facilities at the venue.
