Our fantastic activist summer school returns for 2023 with a special selection of courses celebrating Year of Black Workers.
What's on?
A week-long selection of activist education courses in the bustling comfort of our Higdon House office in Bury St Edmunds. You can do as many as five courses over the week (as long as they don’t overlap).
It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet comrades old and new and link up with your fellow activists from across the region over lunch, which is provided.
Each day runs from 9.30am and will be finished by 4.30pm.

- 14-18 August: New stewards
- 14-16 August: New union learning reps
- 14 August: Making equality central to your union practice
- 15 August: Negotiating skills
- 16 August: Local pay claims
- 17 August: Developing skills to challenge microaggressions in the workplace (for Black activists)
- 17 August: Introduction to disability discrimination law
- 18 August: Developing the next generation of new Black activists (mentoring for experienced Black activists)
- 18 August: Closing the ethnicity pay gap
