Women in our public services face a whole host of issues from sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace to equal pay and the menopause.
And problems have intensified during the pandemic, with women still expected to shoulder the majority of childcare while juggling working from home or facing the extra risks of Covid during pregnancy.
The regional women’s committee meets to discuss all these issues and find a way forwards. The committee makes sure the issue that are important to women are at the forefront of UNISON’s agenda.
UNISON national women’s officer Josie Irwin will join us to deliver a short presentation.
