About Jen

Jen was born and grew up in Thurrock and she moved back here to raise her two girls. She is a former civil servant and current full time carer for her daughter.

Like many people in Thurrock, her family have found themselves taking a hit from over a decade of Tory government and will be hit hard by the Tories’ disastrous financial mismanagement of the council.

She has seen friends and family suffer, particularly other parents of disabled children from callous and incompetent government and she strongly believes that our community and our country deserves so much better.

Why you should campaign in Thurrock

If Labour is to win the next general election, then winning seats like Thurrock is absolutely crucial.

Jen’s proud to be from here, but she has seen how badly we have been affected by the Tories who have bankrupted Thurrock Council and caused a national cost of living crisis.

Thurrock desperately needs change. She is not alone in this, we have some fantastic local candidates putting themselves forward in May, many for the first time.

We have a great chance to win here, but we need to work hard for every vote. She hopes you will join us and looks forward to speaking to UNISON members about their experiences and need for change.
