Running in solidarity with those in need

There For You helps UNISON members experiencing financial difficulty.

In past years, people would come to the charity when they experienced a sudden upheaval – illness, redundancy and the like – but increasingly they’re having to get in touch just to make ends meet.

It’s not hard to see why: we’re enduring the highest period of inflation for decades, while wages have already been eaten up by 12 years of austerity. The pay freeze may officially be over, but workers certainly haven’t noticed any extra weight to their wallets after last year’s pay settlements.

Of course, UNISON and our 1.4 million members will keep fighting for pay rise right across the public sector but workers still need that emergency support.

That’s why West Norfolk UNISON members are taking part in the King’s Lynn parkrun to raise money for There For You on Saturday 25 June.

You can support the run by donating or even taking part!

All money raised will be donated directly to There For You and will therefore go to supporting fellow workers who are struggling to make ends meet.

Working together we can support each other through these turbulent times. Because that’s what communities do. We stand in solidarity.
