As part of the UNISON Eastern One Weekend 2024, we are offering a series of workshops to help members and activists get to grips with specific topics.
This workshop is for union learning reps, branch education co-ordinators and UNISON activists wanting to find out more about and get involved in negotiating and organising around member learning.
It runs on Saturday afternoon.
What will the course help me to do?
This workshop will look at
- The benefits of promoting member learning to members and employers;
- What is a member learning agreement;
- How to negotiate a member learning agreement in the workplace and the benefits this can bring, including
- Tackling inequality of opportunity around learning,
- Improving members work and life skills,
- Increasing membership and activism in the union,
- Building better industrial relations;
- What is lifelong learning?
