As part of the UNISON Eastern One Weekend 2024, we offer a selection of courses for newly elected branch officers, helping them get to grips with their new role.
This course is for LGBT+ branch officers and for UNISON LGBT+ members and activists who want to find out more about getting active in the branch and LGBT+ organisation in UNISON.
The course runs all day Saturday and Sunday morning.
Course aims
- To define the role of a LGBT+ branch officer or contact;
- To establish how to access LGBT+ resources, make useful links and develop strategies for supporting LGBT+ members in their branches;
- To consider how to campaign and get equality issues on the recruitment and bargaining agenda;
- To help you develop an action plan for Year of LGBT+ Workers. We will share what has already happened and consider ideas for the remainder of the year.
